The new musical, Broad Strokes, is a journey of discovery as a young artist fills her canvas with pain, laughter and the unburdening of guilt and anger brought about by a life of abuse. Art provides the foundation for this discovery and helps her define who she really is.

ARTIST BIOS:

Rob Anderson (Playwright/Lyricist)
Rob Anderson's musical, Broad Strokes, was the signature production at the University of Michigan's New Play Festival in May of 2003. It was also a finalist for the O'Neill Theater Center's Music Theater Conference in 2001 and 2002 and was sponsored by the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for consideration for the 2002 National Alliance for Musical Theatre showcase. It received a concert reading at the 2003 Orlando Fringe Festival and a staged reading in 2001, which was produced by Orlando's To Blave Productions. His play, Grilled Vegetables, received a staged reading in November of 2002 by the Playwright's Roundtable of Central Florida. His short play, The Quiet Ones, is currently being produced by the GueriLA Theatre in Los Angeles and his brief, Something To Do, was a semifinalist in collaboraction's Sketchbook 2002 in Chicago. Rob's one-act, Solitary, had a successful run at the 2002 Orlando International Fringe Festival. He was one of four playwrights chosen worldwide to participate in the Atlantic Center for the Arts Residency in October of 2003 under Master Artist, Eric Bogosian and will participate in the Lincoln Center's Directors Lab in July of 2004. He has written and directed over thirty productions for the Walt Disney Company and his project for Disney's Animal Kingdom, The March of the Artimals, was heralded by Michael Eisner as "the most creative thing we've done." Rob attended Northwestern University where he majored in Theatre/Film/Television. He is the Artistic Director of Invictus T.C. in Orlando, FL a theatre dedicated to new works. He is also a member of the Dramatists Guild of America Inc., the Playwright's Roundtable, SAG, AEA, AFTRA and AGVA. Chosen as one of only a handful of directors worldwide, Rob spent this past summer at the Lincoln Center Directors Lab in New York City.

Ben Stellpflug (Composer)
Ben is quickly gaining wide acclaim as a songwriter, producer and arranger. He has served as a music production consultant to Brain Powered Concepts, The Boston Conservatory, Great Ideas Creative Group, Riverside Theater Works, sos films, Kidstock Creative Theater, Pocketfull of Tales Theatre, Express Music Services and JBP Records/My Gym. His work as composer for the musical Broad Strokes, received special recognition at the University of Michigan's 2003 Festival of New Works. He has also worked with the Walt Disney World Music Department, where he served as Production Assistant for countless stage shows, parades and album projects. Ben is a summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music and a member of ASCAP and the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE).
