Ben is active as a music producer, songwriter, arranger, orchestrator, and educational consultant. He has produced and arranged for vocalists and instrumentalists of all levels and has collaborated with music industry professionals and arts educators from around the world. Since March of 2007, Ben has served as a Course Director in the Music Business Department at Full Sail University, a media arts college in Winter Park, FL.

This November, Ben will be joining the Walt Disney Entertainment production team as Vocal Performance Manager for The American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando.

Though Ben spent most of the past year writing and implementing curriculum for new course work in Full Sail University's new music business bachelors degree program, he also served as a music production consultant to The Boston Conservatory, Insomniac Music, Joe Mertz Consulting, Punch Out Productions and tajtunes.com. In addition, Ben is presently statused as a consultant production manager for Walt Disney Entertainment.

Ben recently wrote and produced music which was featured at the grand opening ceremony for the Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, SC. The event, which included a guest performance by Sister Hazel guitarist Ryan Newell, was a bombastic display of special effects culminating in the gates of the park literally blowing open.

Ben also recently completed production on The Boston Conservatory's 2008 "Reaching for the Stars" Benefit Gala Event. In his fourth year as producer, Ben planned and managed the multi-media production which featured guest artists, faculty and alumni performers.

In 2006, Ben served as consultant music producer and songwriter for Brain Powered Concepts, an innovative new production company in western Massachusetts. “The Berries: Friends Like You & Me”, a live-action children's DVD released this past October, has been awarded The National Parenting Center 2006 Seal of Approval and has received recognition from Radio Disney, The Boston Herald and interactivedads.com.

In addition to ongoing freelance music production work, Ben has been affiliated with a consortium of creative artists that make up the independent record label, Elsie Glen Records. The premiere album, entitled Polly Pelak is...5 and a half, is a fun and wacky musical adventure told from the point-of-view of a 5 and a half year old girl. Released nationwide April of 2004, the album has already received critical acclaim and is a favorite among children and parents alike. Corresponding songwriting workshops for kids and educators have been presented over the past two years; most recently at the 27th Annual University of Wisconsin -Whitewater Early Childhood Conference.

In September/October of 2004, Ben served as music director for The Boston Conservatory's presentation of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. Ben also served as Show Producer for the The Boston Conservatory's 2005 and 2006 Gala Events, which featured performances and video segments from current students and alumni from the Broadway stage.

Ben has also contributed music to Kidstock! Creative Theater Education Center in Winchester, MA. While on staff, Ben served as music director and songwriter-in residence, contributing over 30 original songs over the course of eight weeks. This past summer, Ben has also written numerous musical numbers for the Pocket Full of Tales Theatre Company in Wakefield, MA and Los Angeles, CA.

In May of 2003, Ben's musical collaboration with Director/Playwright Rob Anderson entitled Broad Strokes, was featured at the University of Michigan's Festival of New Works. It was also a finalist for the O'Neill Theater Center's Music Theater Conference in 2001 and 2002 and was sponsored by the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for consideration for the 2002 National Alliance for Musical Theatre showcase. Broad Strokes has also been seen In Concert at the Fringe Festival in Orlando, FL.

Additional composition projects include the musical score for the short-film BluePrint, a Matthew Gianino Production set for premiere presentation later this year; and JBP Records Monkey See, Monkey Do, a children's album featured in My Gym fitness centers nationwide. Stellpflug also recently worked as audio mix engineer/sound editor on Going to Grimaldi's and Boston Beats and Rhymes, both documentary short films by Scott Limanek (Punch Out Productions).

Ben received his Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he studied commercial arranging. He was featured as an arranger, performer, songwriter, and conductor onstage and in studio recordings. In addition, he worked as a tutor in Music Theory and Arranging. Prior to his Berklee career, he studied classical voice at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN and performed/recorded with the University Jazz Singers under the direction of Dr. Ron McCurdy.

From 1998-2002 Ben served as Production Assistant for the Walt Disney World Music Department in Orlando, FL. As assistant to three staff producers, he was a music production team member for numerous projects including: Disney's 100 Years of Magic Celebration, the Emmy-Nominated E*Trade Super Bowl XXXIV Halftime Show, Walt Disney Records' Magic in the Streets, American Vybe, and Millennium Celebration Albums, Tokyo Disneyland's D-Pop Magic and Club Disney, Disneyland Paris Animagique and the 10th Anniversary Parade, Disney Cruise Lines C'est Magique, 1998-2001 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parades and many other Walt Disney World Theme Park Stage Shows and Convention Events.

Ben has also acted as Manager of Vocal Music for Express Music Publishing, an online music publishing company, where he was responsible for supervising all music demo and print production for the vocal catalog. He has also published several articles about vocal writing and performance.

As a vocalist, he has performed professionally with big bands, a cappella groups, vocal jazz ensembles, gospel choirs and touring variety shows. He has also worked as a vocal coach, voice over artist and has multiple theatre credits to his name.

Ben is a member of ASCAP and a past member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE), where he has served on the board as newsletter editor.
